Our only Stillwater
The club leases this lake; It is stocked with Rainbow Trout and has a resident stock of Brown Trout (Some quite large)
How to find it
From Denbigh on the Ruthin Road. Turn left by the sports centre on to the Ystrad road, sign posted Saron/Prion. From this point it is exactly 2.7 miles to the turn off. (Follow main road for Prion) The turn is a left fork by 3 very small cottages; Ty Pen Bryn appears to be one of them. There is a small sign for Capel Prion on a Give Way sign, follow the road past 3 housed, immediately after the third house(Bronallt) there is a left junction signposted as a cul de sac/bridleway. Take this turn left, park on the neatly mown grass verge, you may find it easier to reverse up to this point from the junction Do not drive past the house! From the end of the grass verge walk past 2 houses until you reach a green gate sign posted ‘Private’.
Go through the gate and the water is 100yds. down the field on the right.
Local Rules
The lake is fly only with barbless hooks.
All Brown Trout must be returned.
Only one fish may be retained (max of 2 in any one week) and logged in book (located in small fishing hut adjacent to lake).
Fishing allowed between 8.00am and sunset.
No keep nets to be used.
Junior members must be accompanied and supervised at all times.
