The first working party on the 16th was poorly attended with only 4 members turning out. However considerable work was done & the Balsam on the right bank is for the moment under control.
The 30/07/08 Working party will be at Bodfari commencing at 10am.
Meet at New Inn car park or go straight to Bodfari. Due to the previous poor showing from members we will try to get some help from the Community Service people. However this is by no means guaranteed & we need more help to make a difference.
The main thrust will be Balsam strimming but other light work will be done if sufficient members attend.

The June working party undertook more work on The Elwy at Bryn Polyn.
Seven members were there to tackle this rather difficult, planned removal of extensive tree debris in the lowest pool of the beat.
The work required was so arduous that although we started sharp at ten am. we were unable to safely stop until just before 3.33 pm. This was due in part to the relatively normal low attendance and the extremely physical nature of the task to be carried out.
It is envisaged that one further working party on this pool will put it into a very fishable state.
You will see by the attached picture, one of the root balls of the trees which were in excess of 40ft. In total three of these trees were winched out on the day!....one to go!
Please don't think that if you attend, this is what is expect from you. We only wish you to work within your own capability and to a level you feel comfortable with. This example shows the skills and ability's of a close nit team that have worked together since the amalgamation of the two clubs three years ago. So please come and help even if you feel you can only make the tea for those undertaking more arduous work, it all helps, and remember its easy to sit with the paper on those Sundays making excuses for not going. We all know the hardest part of any job is getting started!
We have now entered the holiday period where we have no arranged working parties for July and August, we still have a lot of strimming duties to undertake in order to control the Balsam and make the access to the pools easy. If you feel you would be able to help, either contact any committee member or me direct on 01745 720213 and we will include you when organising it over this period.
There is also a joint working party arranged with Denbigh on the first Sunday of July which is the 6th. This has been arranged primarily to remove a fallen tree which is crossing the river between the road bridge and the disused rail bridge at Bodfari. More trimming work could be undertaken throughout the beat if enough members were to attend.
